Reintroducing the community, to the community
When it comes to creating change in the community, it’s important that we gain an understanding of how we got here in the first place. The PCCETF Speaker’s Bureau brings our community neighbors with lived experience in the system to the table, and helps us to figure out how to make the system better.
The Pierce County Community Engagement Task Force Speaker’s Bureau offers speakers who have lived experience with homelessness and other challenges to organizations and agencies for presentations.
This will assist staff to better understand and serve their community. Our goal is to have these stories be used as a sounding board for new ideas and initiatives to better serve our community.
What to expect
Speakers are honored guests and will be given the same courtesy as a keynote speaker in a corporate setting. They will be supported before and after the program.
Presentations will be relatively short, at about fifteen minutes, and be pertinent to the hosting organizations.
Presentation styles are selected by the speaker with the assistance of a speaker’s assistant, and can include traditional format, interview format, or poetry.
The PCCETF Speaker’s Bureau is supported entirely by community donations. If you’ve enjoyed a speaker or want to support our work, just click here to help us continue supporting our community.
